What is a terrorist.?

This may appear to be a simple question, but trust me it is NOT!.

During world war 2 in occupied countries we had freedom fighters. They destroyed and attacked the occupying powers at every opportunity. The enemy called them terrorists, but were they?.

Freedom fighters or "terrorists" (what ever you want to call them) They had to fight with whatever weapons they had. In an occupied country they could not have tanks, armoured cars and such. They had to make use of whatever they had at hand.

In modern times, such as in occupied Palestine, Iraq or Afghanistan the resistance fighters can only use what is available. Even suicide acts i.e. being killed in an attempt to kill an enemy of your country.

THINK.! For anyone to kill themselves for a cause means that they consider it one of the only options open to them. No one kills themselves at a whim, life is precious. It only comes as a last resort born out of desperation.

Also remember that yesterday's terrorist can easily become tomorrows freedom fighter and hero.

Nelson Mandela was branded a terrorist and spent more than 20 years in prison. He is now considered a hero and a father figure in modern South Africa.

So I beg all who reads this page to read it and carefully consider the content: I will leave you with this thought:

If someone came into your town or village from a city several miles away. They take your home from you and cast you into the street outside. Would you:

1. Sit in the street just looking into what was once your home doing nothing.

2. Throw stones and missiles hoping to drive them out.

3. Try to get help from citizens who live in your town or village to help you.

4. If all was failing to get those occupying trespassers out of your home, would you consider getting in with some explosives and blowing everything inside up, including yourself. (a very desperate measure).

5. Finally how would you feel if outsiders called you a terrorist for trying to hurt those who stolen your home and everything inside it. Would you not consider it only just and right for you to try and regain your home. After all you would be a freedom fighter for you home.

You must agree if you have an honest bone in your body, that the line between terrorist and freedom fighter is very fine.

I would agree that there are some terrorists who are crazy and have no real cause to fight for.

But I believe that these are rare. I believe that most terrorists would rather settle matters over a conference table than destroy life.

I further believe that it is desperation that drives them on. Powerful nations that will not listen to all the arguments on both sides.

I also believe that by not trying to reason with the "so called terrorists"! we cause the gap to grow and create more freedom fighters or terrorists. Depending on which government or country you listen to and support.

This web site does not promote terrorism, but understands some of the reasons for it.!

It is always better to talk over a debating table and being prepared to compromise rather than terrorise.
